Dear Parents/Carers,
We’ve had a busy week in Year 3, the children really seem to be settling in well and are working hard.
Literacy
We will be carrying on with looking at the adventure story Gorilla.
Numeracy
We will be looking at addition and launching our rainbow maths targets for this term – number bonds.
Rainbow Targets Day
On Friday 22nd September we will be enjoying a range of exciting maths activities to launch this terms’ Rainbow Targets. CHildren are invited to come to school dressed in rainbow colours and will be bringing their new Rainbow Targets home that day – look out for a green booklet in your child’s bag!
Topic
We will be planning our first experiment to find out what plants need to grow.
Homework
This week’s homework is linked to our Science topic. Please find a plant in your garden or neighbourhood and draw it labelling the different parts of the plant.
Harvest
We will be performing our Harvest Concert on the 11th October at 2pm in the school hall. We will not be performing in the church this year.
Photos
As in previous years, we would like you to send in a photo of your family to go in display outside our classrooms.
Reading
Please could you encourage children to read on a daily basis and record it in the reading record book.
Outdoor learning
We are keen to get the children outside as much as possible during our learning, so it is vital that they bring a waterproof coat to school every day, as we aim to go out in all weathers! Please also make sure your child has a suitable jumper for outdoor PE as the weather gets colder.
ICT User Policy
Please return your child’s signed ICT user policy to school as soon as possible, so that we can start using iPads and laptops in our learning.
Have a lovely weekend!
