Dear Parents/Carers,

Spring Fayre

Year 6 will be running their annual Spring Fayre on Tuesday 27th March to raise money for camp.  This is open for infants and the general public from 2pm. Juniors may be collected from 2:30pm.   

Literacy

We have now completed our cookery videos.  These can be found on Google Drive, if they have not yet been uploaded to children’s individual accounts, then you will find them in the ‘shared with me’ option of drive.

Numeracy

We will be continuing to investigate lines of symmetry, practising our rainbow targets and working on our times tables.

Homework

There will be no formal homework over the Easter break, however please continue to practise reading, times tables and rainbow target.

Whole school photographs

The whole school photograph was unable to take place due to adverse weather conditions however class photographs went ahead as planned on Thursday.

Topic  

We will be using a range of materials to create drawings of flowers and wildlife.

End of term

Term finishes at 1pm, the children are welcome to bring an extra snack as they will not have their lunch at school.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Greek Pop Up Restaurant

We loved the Greek restaurant, thank you for all your support and feedback about the event.  The children were so proud of what they achieved and it was lovely to see them sharing their work with you.  

Literacy

We will be turning our Greek salad instructions into an instructional cookery film using Tellagami.  If you have this app at home, the children might like to have a practise on it over the weekend.

Numeracy

As well as learning to tell the time, we will be learning about reflective symmetry.

Homework

The children have some time games for their homework this week. We have explained to the children how to play the game so they should be able to demonstrate to you at home.

Whole school photographs

Remember smartest uniforms and neat hair for the whole school photographs which are taking place on Tuesday 20th March and then again on Thursday 22nd for the class photos.

Theatre visit  

Tin Whistle Productions will be performing for the children on the afternoon of Wednesday 21st.  We are very much looking forward to the show.

Greek Pop Up Restaurant

Just a reminder that you are invited to our Greek Pop Up Restaurant at 1.30 on Friday 9th March in the hall. Children will need to remember to bring their ingredients into school first thing on Friday.

Literacy

We will be planning and writing instructions for how to make a Greek salad.  After writing their instructions the children will be using the app Tellagami to present their work.

Numeracy

After learning lots about how to find fractions of numbers, the children will be learning about fractions that are equivalent.

Homework & Google Sharing

The children have each been given a Google account.  This Friday the children will have uploaded a piece of work to share with you at home.  To access their Google accounts their email is their first name followed by the first letter of their surname e.g Fred Smith would be freds@smps.sch.gg, then their password which they have generated themselves.  

Throughout the year the children will be uploading further pieces of work for them to share with you.  For homework this week, we would like the children to have a go at logging on at home and show you the work in their folders so far.

We know that there will be some teething problems with this (!) but over time, the children will become more and more familiar with this system, and will be able to access their folders at home without any problems – we hope!

Topic

We will be wrapping up the Greek Salad part of our Healthy Me topic by evaluating our salads.  Then, we will move on Healthy Mind, and continue to investigate our Decider Skills.
