Sponsored swim week:  Please ensure your child has their kit on their usual swimming day and let the class teacher know if you can spare an hour to count lengths/write certificates during the swim.  We can’t do it without you.

Trip: 

On each Wednesday for the next 3 weeks, there will be a trip to the airport as part of our Local Area and India topics:

Miss Strange – 20th June 9:30 – 11:45

Mrs Le Prevost – 27th June 9:30 – 11:45

Miss Simpson – 4th July 9:30 – 11:45

 

Topic:

We are beginning to research different aspects of India for our fact files.  This element of the topic is very child led so if the children would like to do some extra work at home, they are very welcome to as there will be no formal homework set for the rest of the term.  We encourage children to write in their own words and not copy chunks of information from the internet. Any work will be added to their fact files.

We also have some exciting events coming up such as a chance to interview children in an Indian school and our India Celebration day which will be on Friday 13th July, with parents welcome from 1.30pm.  More details to follow nearer the time.

Maths:

After a fun week of measuring as an introduction to decimals, the children will be recapping on fractions and learning some of the key fraction to decimal pairs such as halves and quarters.  

Literacy:

We will be writing our own version of a lost and found story based on the story of Rama and Sita.
